Organic Petit Verdot 2005
A dense ruby purple colour, this is an impressive Petit Verdot, which should age nicely for 10 to 12 years. It is not only delicious but an excellent investment. Bodega F. Schatz has won several important international awards with their Petit Verdot and rightly so, it is an outstanding wine of the highest echelons.

CLIMATICAL YEAR A very dry cold winter with temperatures evendropping to -15 C. Some strong snowfalls. Buds came earlier than previous years (02.04.05), and were thankfully not damaged by late frosts. The flowering was followed by a rapid vegetative growth under high temperatures (up to 45 C) accompanied by strong easterly winds. Slow ripening because of severe draught. Harvested from mid August until early October. In general terms, it was a very dry year, without fungus attacks. Very healthy grapes, despite the draught, they reached a high rate of acidity and sugar and were well balanced. Crop was only 10% inferior to previous years.
AVERAGE TEMPERATURE 14,8 C. ANNUAL RAIN FALL During vegetative cycle (March-September): 82 ltr. Year Total: 287 ltr
